*Bloodborne Pathogens
Annual training to meet OSHA 29 CFR 1910.1030 guidelines for all occupational exposure to blood or other potentially infectious materials. 

Defensive Driving (4 Hour)
National Safety Council Defensive Driving Course—Employees are valuable asset and investment, getting to and from work safely saves resources.

Fall Protection / Walking-Working Surfaces
OSHA 29 CFR 1910 Subpart D and 1910.66 Appendix “C”. Training emphasizing portable and fixed ladder safety, Guarding floor and wall opening and holes, safety requirements for scaffolding, personal fall arrest systems.

*Forklift Operator Training
Conforms to OSHA 29 CFR 1910.178.  Classroom safety requirement for safe operation of forklift. Proficiency verified at your  site, utilizing your equipment. 


*Hazard Communications
Annual training as per OSHA 29 CFR 1910.1200 (Right to Know) and subpart “E”, about hazardous chemicals in the work place and Egress. 


Hazwoper
 1-Day First Responder Operations Level
This 8-hour course qualifies individual to recognize and perform some defensive measures in hazardous release situations.  This course does not qualify the individual to participate in spill clean up. .


3-Day Hazardous Materials Technician
This 24-hour course qualifies individuals to stop and control releases and has basic knowledge in all areas of emergency response. 

1-Day Refresher Training
This 8-hour course satisfies OSHA standards and allows individuals to keep certification up to date. 

Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S) (4 Hour)
This course that meets OSHA 29 CFR 1910.134/139, API RP 55 and CFR 250.67 standards, recommend also having CPR training in conjunction with this.  Testing done on site.

*API Approved Incipient Firefighting (8-Hour)
This course is designed to demonstrate to the student how to attack a fire in the beginning stages.  Lecture covers the development of a fire, and the fire triangle and fire fighting techniques. Practical covers fire-fighting techniques using several types of extinguishing equipment.

 *Lockout / Tagout
Awareness training as per OSHA 29 CFR 1910.147(c) (7)(i)(iv) that employer provides proper training to understand the purpose and function of energy control programs.   Testing done on site.

P.E.C.
Petroleum Education Council safety orientation for offshore workers.  Testing done on site.              Basic—4 Hours     Petrochemical—1 Hour—must have taken Basic
             Core—3 Days        Offshore—1 Hour—must have taken Basic

*Permit Confined Space
Meets 29 CFR 1910.146, providing training and understanding of confined space entry for permitted entry.  Testing done on site.


*PPE
Personal Protection Equipment awareness training as per OSHA 29 CFR 1910.132.

Respiratory Protection
 Respiratory Protection awareness trainin g as per OSHA 29 CFR 1910.147.

Rigger Certification API 5th Edition (4-6 Hours)
Rigger training instructions and hands on demonstrations, as per OSHA 29 CFR 1926.550 & 1910.184 , API RP 2D, and USAS B30.5 standards.  Rigging hardware, slings, procedures and precautions, rigging basics, crane functions and other lifting devices.  Testing done on site.             

STCW Basic Safety Training  First Aid/CPR (8-Hour)
Basic First Aid and Adult CPR—Basic techniques in injury assessment, immediate care and CPR.  Testing done on site.

 

STCW Basic Safety Training Personal Survival Water Survival (12 Hour)
8-Hours classroom and 4 hours pool—12 Hour course in water survival techniques, life saving gear, floatation devices, life rafts and in water practice.  Testing done on site.

STCW Basic Safety Training Personal Safety and Social Responsibility (4 Hour)
4 Hour classroom—Basic emergency procedures, alarm signals, Lock Out / Tag Out, Personal Protective Gear, and Social responsibility.  Testing done on site. 

STCW Basic Safety Training Basic Firefighting (16 Hour)

10-Hours classroom and 6-Hours Field---Training & Proficiency demos on a Fire Field including wearing Self Contained Breathing Apparatus and fighting fires with a variety of extinguishing agents.  Testing done on site.

 Water Survival With Helicopter Egression API Approved (8-Hour)
This course is designed to provide the student with an overview of basic maritime personal survival.  Students will be shown the proper uses of various lifesaving apparatuses found in the offshore industry.  Student will don several types of survival equipment including  PFDs and immersion suits. The student will understand the escape procedures of an overturned aircraft in the water.

 

*Tailored to Industry Needs
This course meets minimum standards required by governing bodies, additional training can be added to the curriculum to meet industries needs.The mission of the Marine Operations Program is to offer specialized classroom instruction and practical training to prepare students to obtain various documents, licenses, and endorsements.
Young Memorial believes Industry, not the education facility, should determine the types of training their employees receive.
